Prometheus · Autonomous Environmental Research
Looking for the signals that come before the event.
Prometheus is Pythology's autonomous environmental research observer. His purpose is simple: examine changes in the natural world, identify patterns worth investigating and help us understand whether those patterns can tell us something meaningful about what happens next.
He observes. He questions. He keeps the evidence. And when reality answers, he checks his work.
Why Prometheus exists
The world produces enormous amounts of environmental information, but important changes can be difficult to recognise among everyday fluctuations.
Prometheus was developed to investigate those changes, look for relationships and help us determine which observations deserve closer attention.
Our long-term goal is to discover whether reliable environmental precursor signals can provide valuable advance awareness — potentially giving communities more time to prepare and protect lives.
What he does
Prometheus examines incoming environmental and geophysical observations, looking for meaningful changes and unusual patterns.
He identifies areas of interest, compares observations and records what the available evidence supports — including uncertainty and alternative explanations.
When predictions are made, they are recorded before the outcome is known. Successful results, incorrect predictions and inconclusive findings all matter.
His performance, on the record
Loading the public forecast ledger…
What is a Brier score? It's one way of measuring how well probabilistic forecasts match actual outcomes. Lower is better, but the number becomes meaningful only with enough representative observations.
We don't want Prometheus to simply sound convincing. We want his results to stand up to scrutiny. Successful forecasts, misses and inconclusive cases must all remain part of the record.

Independent geoscience and extreme-weather screening. These observations do not modify committed forecasts or imply validated predictions.
Independent hourly screening of earthquake-catalogue patterns and known volcanic settings, with evidence limits kept visible.
Catalogue screening is not an earthquake or eruption prediction.
